White Nile University celebrated in its buildings in Kosti today the 25th anniversary of the founding of its "Silver Jubilee" September 25, 1999 - September 25, 2024, in the presence of Professor Qamar Al-Dawla Abdul Muttalib, Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Essam Muhammad Ahmed Al-Badri, agent of the University, deans of deanships and Faculties , university professors, employees as well as students. While addressing the celebration of this occasion, Professor Qamar Al-Dawla Abdul Muttalib, Vice Chancellor of the University, greeted the founders of the university, Professor Al-Samani Abdul Muttalib, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Professor Al-Shazly Issa Hamad, Rector of the University, and the diseased Professor Ali Al-Jilani, Professor Qamar Al-Dawla expressed his happiness due to 25 years of scientific and academic journey at the university , and said that the first decade, which extended from 1999 to 2009, was to establish the university’s infrastructure, and that the second decade, which extended from 2009 to 2019, included the establishment of applied academic programs (Medicine ,Nursing Medical Laboratory and Architecture), which is the first college of architecture outside Khartoum State. As for the third decade, it is the decade of quality and excellence, developing human cadres and achieving job satisfaction. He stressed the Board of Trustees’ keenness on excellence, leadership, keeping pace with technical development and interest in scientific research, and pointed out that the celebration was simplified due to the war conditions and the economic conditions that the country is experiencing. Dr. Essam El-Din Ahmed El-Badri, Vice-Chancellor of the University, said that the White Nile University has occupied a high position within the higher education system in Sudan. He pointed out that the university, which began with the College of Education, Basic Stage, in 1999, now has 12 colleges in various specializations. He added that the academic stability witnessed by the university confirms the harmony between the founders of the university and their keenness to continue studying despite the circumstances and challenges that the country has gone through. He pointed out that the university, due to the circumstances that the country is going through, has transferred the budget for the Silver Jubilee celebration to support university employees. For his part, Dr. Essam El-Din Ahmed El-Badri, the agent of the University, said that White Nile University has occupied a high position within the higher education system in Sudan. In the same context, Professor Mohamed El-Amin Kaber, Dean of the Deanship of Quality and Evaluation, discussed the stages of the university’s journey and its founders since it was an idea until it became a scientific organization among Sudanese universities. He said that the founders of the university were concerned with serving the nation and science, and their goal was not material gain, and he demonstrated this with a number of evidences. He stressed that the White Nile University is considered as one of the universities that contributed the most to the qualification of teachers, as it graduated 1,600 teachers from the College of Education, basic stage, and that the university is one of the few universities that has more than 50 scholarships annually. Dr. Moatasem Yahya, the representative of the professors and employees, also congratulated the founders of the White Nile University, and said that the university continued its scientific and academic path and overcame all the challenges and difficulties during the past years. He expressed his wishes for the university to progress and prosper and to become among its regional and international peers in scientific research and to maintain continuous development. The labors’ representative, Hajja Hoda Faulino, expressed her thanks and complete satisfaction to the university administration, which has given her a lot in her professional life. She said that she found appreciation and respect from the administration, professors, students and employees of the university. She pointed out that her service at the university extended for twenty years, she is proud of that.
