About Faculty

The Faculty of Dentistry at White Nile University awards the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) through a five-year academic program. The first two years establish a solid foundation in basic health sciences, while the following three years transition the student into dental sciences and their clinical applications.

This curriculum is student-centered and adopts a holistic approach to patient care. it is supported by an integrated system of modern teaching methods that develop evidence-based dental practice skills and enhance analytical thinking and professional problem-solving abilities.

In alignment with global trends and local shifts—which emphasize that the modern dentist must possess a firm ability to integrate medical sciences with oral and dental sciences—the faculty aims to prepare graduates capable of providing comprehensive healthcare. This includes fostering a culture of prevention, practicing evidence-based dentistry, and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with a deep awareness of public health needs and a steadfast commitment to socially responsible community service.

The program relies on modern, evidence-based education and advanced technologies to promote critical thinking, lifelong learning, and innovation. This qualifies graduates to respond to labor market requirements and the rapid advancements in the field of dental sciences.
