About Faculty
The importance of the Arabic language lies in it being the language in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed—miraculous in both its word and meaning. It is also the language in which the Noble Prophetic Hadith was recorded. Consequently, acquiring knowledge of the Book of Allah, understanding the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him), and comprehending the issues of the Islamic Ummah necessitates mastery of this language and an awareness of its deep-rooted heritage and ancient culture.
For this reason, the teaching and study of Arabic for non-native speakers attract many non-Arab intellectuals and interested individuals. Their aim is to explore Arabic heritage, culture, and renewed Islamic thought throughout the ages. Accordingly, the Senior Administration of White Nile University has committed itself to establishing this Faculty for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, specifically to meet the needs of African and Asian peoples. The goal is to provide them with both Arabic language skills and Islamic sciences to serve Islam and Muslims.
By the grace of Allah, the Faculty of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers has been established in the city of Rabak, following the academic regulations and foundations required for specialized programs in this field. In preparing the curriculum, the designated committee—with the help of Allah—consulted several programs from faculties of Education, Arabic language, and specialized institutes for non-native speakers both within and outside Sudan.
