The 4th Financial and Administrative Committee meeting for the year 2026 was held at the Martyr Dr. Ali Al-Jailani Complex, located on the premises of White Nile University in Kosti. The meeting was chaired via videoconference by Prof. Al-Samani Abdul-Muttalib Ahmed, Chairman of the Committee, with the presence of Prof. El-Shazali Issa Hamad, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Dr. Essam El-Din Ahmed Mohamed Badri, University Secretary-General. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Awad Haj Ali, former Vice-Chancellor of Neelain University and Academic Research Advisor to White Nile University, alongside members of the committee.
Dr. Essam El-Din Ahmed Mohamed Badri presented the financial and accounting performance report for the first half of 2026, which reflected the university's performance across its various spending categories, including expenditure items and revenues. Following extensive discussions, the committee approved the H1 financial performance report, as well as the internal auditor’s report presented by the Secretary-General.
Several committee members praised the performance report, emphasizing that it was comprehensive, thorough, and clearly covered all financial and accounting parameters.
Prof. El-Shazali Issa Hamad, Vice-Chancellor of the University, highlighted the importance of supporting employee satisfaction programs by sending a number of faculty members and administrative staff abroad for training and qualification. He also noted initiatives enabling service staff to perform Umrah at the university’s expense, alongside providing subsidies for the Adha sacrifice and Ramadan grants. He emphasized that prioritizing scientific research remains a top goal for the university through supporting researchers and encouraging the publication of academic papers. Furthermore, he outlined that several academic programs are currently undergoing approval at the postgraduate diploma, Master’s, and Ph.D. levels, in addition to establishing the Faculty of Optometry, which will serve as a valuable addition to the university's medical faculties.
The committee concluded by forming subcommittees to work on improving the campus environment to ensure a suitable setting for students, in addition to backing student activities by organizing workshops, seminars, training courses, and cultural and heritage events.
Additionally, the committee reviewed a proposal to establish the Consultancy Services Authority at White Nile University, dedicated to providing engineering and financial consultations. Following detailed deliberations, the committee decided to defer the proposal's approval to allow for further study and refinement, with the final version to be presented at the upcoming meeting.
