The Faculty of Law at White Nile University organized a scientific field trip to Al-Noor Correctional City in White Nile State, headed by Dr. Najwa Abdel Raziq Abbas, Dean of the Faculty, accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Ammar, Mr. Mokashfi Abdeen, the Academic Registrar, and Mr. Mahdi Al-Tahir. The visit targeted first-year students in their second semester.
The delegation was received by Lieutenant Colonel Youssef Jumaa Abdel Rahman, Director of the Correctional City, Captain Mohamed Al-Turaifi Ahmed, Director of General Affairs, and Captain Al-Baqir Dafallah Hussein, Director of Inmate Affairs. Lieutenant Colonel Youssef Jumaa Abdel Rahman welcomed the delegation, expressing his pleasure with the visit and wishing that it achieves its academic and training objectives, and that students benefit from the training programs provided to them. He also affirmed the readiness of the Correctional City's administration to cooperate with the faculty by offering various training programs across different departments.
For her part, Dr. Najwa Abdel Raziq Abbas reaffirmed the Deanship’s commitment to enhancing practical training for students, emphasizing that field training contributes to refining students' skills and developing their professional and cognitive abilities. She explained that the Deanship has established an integrated practical training program in coordination with the state's judicial bodies.
The visit included an orientation tour through the various departments of the Correctional City, alongside lectures covering the history of prisons, Sudanese law, as well as the regulations and procedures governing operations inside the facility. The sessions also highlighted inmate rehabilitation programs, which include education, vocational and handicraft training, as well as Holy Quran memorization.
